View Full Version : Magic Triangles
This magic triangle puzzle (http://www.tummyfluff.co.uk/puzzles/triangle.htm) is kinda neat. It had a couple of us bamboozled for a while. Unfortunately, my colleague figured it out first and he told me what the answer was, so I didna get to figure it out for myself.
There are lots more here (http://www.tummyfluff.co.uk/puzzles/index.htm). Some are really neat.
Not to sure about the triangles but there is loads of interesting stuff on there.

The answer lies with the red and green triangles. Look carefully

Took two seconds to work it out, and a quick check confirmed my suspicion, not so much an optical illusion as playing on our inability to compare two objects to such a degree of accuracy...
:)
Well, I spotted the bit that "doesn't look quite right" straight away, but I was too dumb to follow it through quantitatively. :eyes
Maybe I shoulda thought about all that "useless" stuff on similar triangles they made us do in Maths at THS many moons ago. I never was any good at applying that sort of thing...
I've been staring at one of the other illusions for hours but I still can't see a boat in the background. Must go take another look. :confused

I thought it was a waterfall not a boat.
