newest i have seen is this.......

An unusually strong low pressure system to the northwest of Scotland will affect all areas of the UK on Wednesday.

The forecast low pressure system will develop rapidly by Wednesday. The track will bring the centre of the low pressure not far from the northern Isles of Scotland.

Gale force south to south west winds will affect areas shown on the map. Mean speeds of 30-40mph in many places with gusts of 60mph perhaps 70 mph. Heavy rain will accompany the gales as frontal systems sweep south east.
For the rest of the UK on Wednesday, the rain will be more noticeable than the wind. Heavy rain will sweep eastwards across the country on Wednesday possibly accompanied with heavy showers behind. Even south of the area shown winds of 20-30mph will occur, perhaps 40mph or so in exposed parts. Over Scotland, away from the aea shown, gusts of 50mph or more are likely.

Reports from the west are that it was quite wild last night and the sea is "boiling".....

well that was it i think, biggest gust i recorded was 41.1mph at 12.44pm

swell will still be building and if the wind doesn't kill it off could be a nice evening for wave watching near dunnet (max height will be about 10pm this evening).

I am watching the Hamnivoe entering the Pentland firth through my telescope right now. It left Sctabster an hour ago and I wouldnt fancy being on it. Although I have seen it alot worse, it still looks pretty rough out there right now.
