CLUB GRUB

Mulligatawny and egg mayonnaises
Plum tart with custard and chocolate daises,
Old-fashioned, no-nonsense, good English grub -
This is my favourite food at the club.

Bangers and mash served with lashings of gravy,
Thick treacle tart like they cooked in the navy,
Cheeses you find in a good country pub -
This is my favourite food at the club.

Sirloin of beef piled with parsnip and carrot,
Washed down with oodles of plain, honest claret,
Horseradish sauce that's so strong that you blub -
This is my favourite food at the club.

When the wind blows
When my swing goes,
When I'm feeling flat,
If I can't cheer up with a lunch and a doze,
Then, dammit, I'll eat my hat !
