View Full Version : Following on from one for Weeboyagee..
Following on from Weeboyagee's PINK house I thought that I would show the progression of my holiday - seeing as how I'm not getting one this year:
Once there was...

..a sun room.
Then...

.. there wasn't.
The change began...

.. with a brick or two.
Followed by an old tradition.

What a brilliant idea with the coin - I hadn't thought of doing that before!
Looks like your having fun anyway Ricco!
Fun? Definitely. The coin (2007) is an old offering to the ground for sound foundations. There is a matching custom for the joists of a roof - hammer one into one of the beams. Will keep you posted.

Would you be safer if you'd offered more money, like a 50p bit, or is it traditional for thrifty scots to put down a penny. [lol]

Gracious Ricco you are letting all us fellow orgers see how good you are at DIY you could become everybodys best friend ;) by the way can you lend me a hand with the garden when the house is finished
Terrible news.... found two frames had cracks in - one is the big four-window frame facing down the garden. This will hold things up until the new ones arrive, and the plasterer arrives on Monday! Electrician should have been here today but there was no sign of him.
By the way, I am quite a handyman but assembling a conservatory is beyond my skills. I have been assisting a great deal but the actual assembly is down to an expert from the company.
The gang boss of the brickies said that he would do the plumbing line for me in the wall cavity - he was doing it all the time. Well, when I connected it to the mains and pressured up..... it leaked! He hadn't cut the piping properly and hadn't fitted the connector properly. So, had to drill out the relevant brick and redo the connection. Pressured up again... and another leak - inside the wall cavity this time!
So, I got the company to buy and deliver a new set of parts and did the job myself - properly. Pressured up and ..... tight as a bunny. Now have an outside tap and can trust the job is well done. So, next time someone offers to do something for you and says that they 'do it all the time', thank them for the offer and do it yourself. :confused

What else did you expect?
I'm married to a sparky & I have this scenario every night! [lol]
You're doing very well though - will you help us when we decide to do ours then? Can't promise to pay you, but I make a mean coffee!:)

Tea will be fine - coffee makes me go all FuNnyyeee. :evil
Latest update - the replacement frames are going in at this very moment. Will have to go out and give them a quick once-over before they put the glazing in.
By the way, despite reducing the size of the pictures they have still come in huge. I would like them to be about half that size - any suggestions?

So, according to Scottish law, that's a verbal agreement, right? So that's it then, you're now duty bound to help! And tea's ok, I have a huge teapot!

Fully glazed - you will see that I have had to move the pathway of the piping to the outside tap. Builders will need to come back and resite the two bricks.
