I think this is the Garden Tiger Moth. I did a Google search, and the Scarlet Tiger Moth looks similar, but the front wings have a black background with white or cream and orange spots. The Garden Tiger Moth looks just like the beautiful one in Foxy's photo.
wow! that looks amazing. Almost like it isn't real.

Awesome, I love moths, remember seeing one of those when I lived in Stainland. This is a picture of one I had on my front porch earlier this year, its a Blinded Sphinx, its pretty big though, bout 2 inches long and three inches wide.

Many years ago, I found a fat, furry bothag, and kept him, feeding him up etc. He was a fat black fellow, with spiky black hairs all over, and spiky red ones in clumps down his back. Eventually he wrapped himself up in a lettuce leaf, and emerged several months later as one of these gorgeous Tiger Moths. Just thought I'd share... :)
Would it have been like the one in the pic i posted on "Just because," Weeburd?
I would move it to here but don't seem able to do so.
I think that's him, Lizz, I've heard of them being called "Woolly Bears" too!:)
This is furry bothag we found in August last year, down by Braal Castle...

This time I forgot to take pics of the caterpillar, however he was quite a long, green fellow. We were at a complete loss as to his identity until he emerged in May as this pretty Angle Shaded moth. The photo's don't do him justice - he was quite vibrant shades onf green and pink/purple...
