jus to say that both the bonfire and fireworks were impressive this year. :D
They were indeed, is that the first time they have been done with music?

This years fireworks were the best I have seen - all done to music which was very impressive. Well done to the committee for organising them.
Brilliant show - I was well impressed :D
The Gala Committee are looking for volunteers for next year - anybody here up for it??

One of my favourite memories of Wick was the Gala Week fireworks and bonfire. I loved them.
I am glad to read that another successful evening was enjoyed this year.

I wont say how many years I have gone to see the bonfire and fireworks at Wick Gala but tonight has got to be the best ever. Being set to music really was wonderful. The icing on the cake for the whole gala week.......and no rain!!:D
We saw it "live" Colin but the photos are great - thank you for your time & patience for posting them here for all to enjoy :D

Yes they where fansatic this year far better than last year. I remeber last year it rained so it was to go with out the rain, i like to go because you get to socialize with your mates. And everyone is chilled out on a Saturday night and it good to here some traiditional music in the back ground. :D

Make Canon
Model Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Flash Used No
Focal Length 17 mm
Exposure Time 30.00 sec
Aperture f/11
ISO Equivalent 100
I processed the RAW file rather than doing a batch job and added a border.

That was the first batch of fireworks and I hadn't changed my settings from the bonfire pictures, I was just luck that it turned out that way.
All of the later pictures were taken with 2-5 second exposures. The camera was mounted on a tripod and I used a remote shutter release to take the pictures. I hit the button when I heard the fireworks launch and then release it after they exploded.
Colin and Zappster , many thanks for the pics and the links.
Sounds like the bairns where having a great time!

Brill, thanks Colin. I'll try that next time. I don't have a remote release, though. Nowhere for a cable release either.
