(From another list)

"Does anyone know exactly where this farm or croft was? It is listed in the 1841, 1861 and 1881 censuses in the same enumeration district as Hawkhillock, Mount Pleasant and Springbank, but it is the only address listed in 1881 in that enumeration district which I cannot find on the modern Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 map.

It is also missing from the online 1877 OS map.

I reckon it has to be somewhere on the east (right) bank of the river, fairly close to the bridge.

Any ideas, anyone?"

(Update)

"Clysterfield was a farmhouse which stood directly behind Oldfield Farm and near to Hockhill. Tulloch's Well was a small spring which was situated close to the river, about a quarter of a mile to the right of the bridge (from the Thurso East side)."

Can anyone pinpoint this location? Near the footbridge (harbour side) maybe?
