Every year from now onwards over the winter a flock of Lapwings up to 200 fly over the offshore rocks at Staxigoe before sunset and then settle on the islets to roost.
I assumed it was to fly over the sea to get rid of mites and for safety.
I'm intrigued. Any suggestions ?
