Proposals to give victims a voice by creating an independent Commissioner to champion their rights secured broad support among respondents to a public consultation on supporting victims. An analysis of the three-month consultation on improving peoples' experience of the justice system found "support across the board" for giving complainers in sexual offence cases an automatic right to anonymity, as well as better trauma-informed and person-centred approaches being embedded in the justice system to improve how people are treated.
