Bridge + High Street close off

I heard that they are supposed to be closing off bridge street and high street next year to resurface the roads and the traffic will be diverted around the town. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Yes Robin, its true, the roads will be closed next year for deep re surfacing. Read all about it in the " groat". In fact the council at one time were going to have this route permanently to make the whole town centre pedestrianised. :Razz

I hope they make a better job of this re-surfacing than they did at Somerfields a few weeks ago. The new surface is a disgrace and is so thin that the original parking space lines are showing through. During a shower of rain i tried to put my trolley back in one of the collection bays and the puddle at the entrace to it was several inches deep. I just left my trolley outside it - hope a car didn't bump into it and get scratched. :~(
