Isn't is sad how the Politicians of all Countries are fighting amongst themselves.
If they spend that valuable time trying to solve the problems it would be refreshing.
Between Boris and Biden….what a bunch!

Cheeze Whiz……are they ever going after Boris…. He had a couple of people over, and had a few drinks on his BIRFFDAY!.
This is what happens in modern day Politics……
Lets not let the Man GOVERN, just attempt to De-Throne him!
What childish behaviour!…….he deserves a Medal.

hello sandy i agree with you i was a labour supporter in my younger days but never again all the fighting and goings on and the world could be on the brink of war again .

You just don't get it, do you Horseman on so many levels and I feel sorry for you. Unless, of course you actually do get it fine and are on here merely just stirring which is quite likely, I guess.

As you say Fulmar, Horseman is either a complete ignoramus, or he just likes to get people riled.
As far as I'm aware he doesn't live in the UK and so I doubt he has any understanding of what is happening here.

To whom it may concern,
My comment was….Managing a Company is stressful and extremely difficult. And managing a Country is nigh impossible when you have all The Dogs at your heels attempting to take you down.
So he had a party….is this sufficient to have him Booted!
Of course, if you are from the opposing sides, anything goes.
No I don't live in the UK, but travel back regularly, and I bet I know The North if Scotland as good as anyone.
Political Parties should be allowed to Governing, not spending all their time doing ‘damage control!

And Gronnucky, You yourself don’t sound like the sharpest Knife in the drawer!
Fulmar….so you don’t agree with what I say.
C’est La Vie.

Horseman, I really do think you should quit this thread whilst you have a shred of credibility left. There is a deep anger, across all sections of the population, at Johnson's behaviour and if you have not picked up on that then perhaps your favoured news provider is letting you down.

Whatever he is…..He is your leader.
Pease pay some respect……he didn’t get in thru a Lottery.,

And how is Mr dcI?
Very cold here…27 below zero, with Snow and more snow! And of course ‘locked down’ with Covid.

Lybster must be ‘shining’! S

Corky, He is the Leader. Normally one does that…..

Who do pick for Respect?

Yes I am……who do you respect!

Respect has to be earned. Boris Johnson became PM when the Tories won 43% of England's vote. The Tories have not won power in Scotland since 1955! Boris's ascent to high office has been very much a lottery; he has a track record of failure, philandry, lying and racism. His reprehensible behaviour is all in the public domain.

OK….Can you think of a more ‘local party’ that is different!

In a more serious tone, Governments are like ‘big business’, which really they are. They have to turn and twist with everyday problems….Yes?

Horseman, I really don't know what to say to you except that you appear to be completely out of touch with the mood of the people on these islands. For example, a recent poll showed 80% of Scots wanted him to resign. I wouldn't be surprised to see that that figure was now even higher given the latest revelations.

Please, before you post any more thoughts on the matter widen your news gathering a bit. As Gronnuck says "respect has to be earned" and Johnson has done nothing but give us reasons to disrespect him.

hello sandy its not to bad here weather wise, i have never voted tory but i thought he was doing not to bad a job .i was against joining the common market as it was back then , and was delighted when we left so leased with progress and at our age we have lived a bit i still work and pay my taxes ,and i know you have been around a bit in this country and know a fair bit about the politics of this country as well

I'd love to reply to your last post but I'm afraid I really don't understand it.

Now, I know I go on about how biased the BBC is but it has very thoughtfully provided the general public with a discussion forum on the Downing St. parties. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-60140672#comp-comments-button)

At the time of writing there were 12,560 comments. Have a browse through them and you will see the strength of feeling many have about him. And before anyone piles on to say how unrepresentative this sample of views is, I know. I'm just trying to help Horseman understand the level of anger which exists.

*******And I did compare CNN to the BBC….in fact The BBC ‘lifts’ CNN stories and re prints them!
But people are angry about everything……Read Jordan Peterson.
It’s that time in The World…..and Covid doesn’t help.

Weather here today is 25 below zero and 2 feet of snow. It's been a while since we had these conditions.
Am also a Tory!…That is going to Shock Corky!
It’s been a few years since I was over, but I try to keep up with the Goings on!
Glad to see you are still going strong’…..A wee bitty like Johnny WALKER…..

No Horseman, reasonable people are not angry about everything but they are certainly angry about this. Two thirds of people/voters in the whole of the UK think that Johnson should resign and 4 out of 5 people in Scotland. Is that good enough for you?
Oh and just to say, so bored with you going on about CNN- complete yawn factor so far as I'm concerned at least. Wonder why you are so obsessed with it.

First…It’s the Media that ‘stirred’ this up. We have the same thing with a Convoy of Trucks, 35 miles long.

And if you want to listen to Lies, carry in with CNN. Am just pointing out some truths!
I do think that The Public at large appreciates the fact that all Media outlets are affiliated to Political influence, but when they abuse their Objectivity, the Public should be warned!

I don't listen to CNN as you put it, why would I since I don't live across the Atlantic as you do! I thankfully have many sources of information I can access and don't bang on about the BBC either- do us all a favour. I am perfectly capable of forming my own judgements on political events without you telling me what to do or think- as is everyone else I know.

I wanted to see if there had been any attempts to measure bias in the U.S. media.

I came across some research done by someone called J.J. Prior. I have no idea who this person is or what their affiliations may be but s/he has attempted to address this very issue. The work is more journalistic in nature rather than truly academic but nonetheless it provided some interesting data. The link to the article is given below.

https://jjpryor.medium.com/how-statistically-biased-is-our-news-f28f0fab3cb3

If you can't be bothered to read it all here are some salient points:-

Reliability was measured on a scale from 0 to 64 (unreliable to reliable).

Bias was measured from -42 to +42 (left to right).

CNN scored 42.22 on reliability and -5.69 on bias.

Fox News scored 26.76 on reliability and 15.31 on bias

I can't say these results were anything other than, pretty much as I expected.

What was interesting was how many news sources were measured and how many were much less reliable and much more biased than either CNN or Fox News. It was also interesting to see so many people in the U.S. using U.K. sources.

I live in Canada, part of ‘North America’…….. And travelled extensively in The US.
I used to visit Caithness yearly until 2018, and sometimes stayed with relatives who had ‘The TV’ in the morning, sometimes all day.
On many occasions it was CNN reporting ‘ The most trusted news’, which shocked me as it was so one sided it was baffling!
Their attempted destruction of Donald Trump was unbelievable……it has been proved as mostly Fake News, and those responsible are Criminally charged with many offences, and most of the CNN Anchors are gone. See my initial post….just totally disgusting!

I have some knowledge of The North and follow most of what is going on, and methinks many people had ‘a wee party’ in their ‘back yard’.
Top elected Officials have the opposition at their heels, and have the ‘up and comers’ in their own party trying to get them out. I was watching the comments and most of it was Political Grandstanding!

I did look at the JJ Prior report and that was 18 months ago, with analysis from months before that.
CNN has basically collapsed. They have lost much of their advertising and Newscasters. They are trying by hiring a Fox Host, paying him an exorbitant sum of money to attempt to erase their near demise!

News should be objective……its a ‘tough go’! All for now. Ty.

Perhaps your Caithness friends should just use their remote a bit more- it's a bit of a bizarre inference that you make in my opinion and as I said above, you clearly don't get it as regards what's happening here.

…If you hate our Leader so much, why would you want to come to America.

So... From those comments can I conclude that you won't be visiting Scotland or The US again until the SNP & Joe Biden are no longer in power & replaced by something more to your liking?

The two Big Guns are out for me!
******Fulmar…..Bizarre that they watch the American channels! Oh Deary me!

******Alrock….. Another Oh Dear…… You both aren't thinking straight…..

And I see Boris is sending The Cavalry…150 of The Light Brigade to Ukraine…..got then off the topic of dumping him.

Seriously your arguments are ‘flawed’….Look around you…..Politicians are all the same….

My thoughts were that Great Britain should not be Fighting Amongst themselves, when in the throws of Covid. Simples..make of that what you wish. Read what I said of The Boris Parties….’Mickey Mouse’! Pity Emojis don’t work here!

Hi Horseman, I'm not out for you as you put it- I could not care less! I certainly think that most of what you say is very weird and that you are following some agenda of your own, whatever that is. One question, do you post like this on other Forums in countries where you are not resident or is it just this one?

Do the readers here think that the ‘Full Might’ of the London Met Police, be chasing after The PM and members of Parliament for a picture of Boris, with a bottle of ‘wobbly pop’?
A Criminal Investigation……..
Where has Common Sense gone!
