A nicht fan aal wis quiet.
We’d hed wur roast beef for wur tea
Noo that she’s off her diet.
A gless o’ wine an’ pudding too
Enjoyed by one an all
Then settled doon aside e’ fire
An howped no wan wid call.
Feet up on ai stoolie
We dozed for half an hoor
Then baith o’ us were startled
Wi a banging’ at ai door.
‘’Fits at, Fits at ?’’ I hear her say
Till the mannie fa wis there,
