A man was telling me that the train from Inverness to wick was cancelled so scot rail put him up to wick in a taxi and they paid £150. If this keeps happening they be stopping the trains to wick for good. Have read that the last bus to wick has been cancelled as it just goes as far as Brora. So the last bus to wick is about 4 pm or earlier. This was in the paper.

That happened to me a few years back (not here) I was travelling back from Skegness, should have got to Dundee at 8pm, due to delays and cancelled trains found myself at Waverly (Edinburgh) at 1 am. Virgin trains arranged for a train full of people to be put in taxi's and taken home, I was lucky I was only Dundee, but there were loads going on to Aberdeen. It must have cost them a fortune, and that can't only have happened to me over the years.

Happened to me also, going from Edinburgh to Motherwell, taxi all the way due to a cancelled train...

The irony of it being that I was going to buy my ticket on the train so didn't even have a ticket...
