Hello from British Columbia, Canada. I am in search of information to determine if I have descendants still living in the Wick/ Caithness area.

I am the granddaughter of William Michael "David" BREMNER (a descendant of Alexander Bremner of Wicks, Caithness) b: September 24, 1891 and Annette Sophronie LARAMEE. Grandpa was son of William Bremner Jr. (grandson of Alexander Bremner) and Celina Dumas. Grandma's obituary (1991) states she had 9 daughters, 6 sons, 130 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Alexander BREMNER was born around 1791 at Wick in Caithness, Scotland. On June 20, 1812 Alex joined the service of the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) and on Sep 2 that year he sailed aboard the King George to York Factory. He was described in company records as being 5’ 5”, with red hair and a fair complexion. Alexander married Elizabeth Twatt in 1833. He died in 1842.

The Bremner history in Canada is rich and their is much information due the their prominence during the Northwest Revolution.

My uncle has written a book of descendants but it does stop with Alexander. If you can provide or point me in the right direction for any additional information I would very much appreciate it.
