View Full Version : spoof email from paypal
Just recived a genuine looking email from Paypal asking to resubmit my details including my bank details and password. I was immeadiatly suspicious, as it was headed "Dear Customer" not by my name, I contacted Paypal by telephone, they informed me this was a phishing email and to foward it to them, and they thanked me for being alert, I am not just and owld fool lol
I have been getting quite a lot of these, some of them telling me my account has been limited. I forward them to
[email protected] and they try to trace the source. Genuine Paypal correspondence will always address you by your name.
I've had lots of them I just delete them!

A mate of mine had one last week from the taxman last week saying he was due a refund and to let them have his bank details - lucky he only had £ 14 in the account cos the daft sod sent his details - got him to phone HMRC and was confirmed a scam .
