Just wondering if anyone can offer any info on the history of Acharasdal ? Not the nursing home and grounds - thats quite well documented - but the steading or farm which is clearly marked as "Achvarasdal" on maps just south of Creag Mhor. I hiked there yesterday morning and have done so many times before. It may well have been a sheep farm - its now surrounded by forest. Some pictures follow. Any info on its history would be welcome. Nothing jumps out from on-line searches.

Another great web site to check historical places is Royal Commission On Ancient and Historical Monuments for Scotland.

Thanks Bill. I had already found that one via the previous post, and have uploaded my photos to RCAHMS.
