View Full Version : Dunnet area-Greenland & Rosegill farms/houses
HI wondering if anyone can tell me if these two farms or houses were in close proximity to each other.
Trying to connect some family and on one of the baptism records for the Shearer family (they lived at Rosegill) the two witnesses were a Geo & Jean Simpson (Greenland). Thought maybe George might be related to Mrs Shearer (Elizabeth Simpson)
Thanks
Jackie

About two and a half miles as the crow flies.
Thanks Fred, that makes it a really good possibility. Now I was again looking at Baptism records and came across the farmhouse of Sinnigoe can you tell me where in Dunnet that might be? One baptism had the Abode listed as Linnigoe, so I am not sure if they are the same or two different farms or the translator just whoopst on the S and the L.
Thanks for anymore help you can give.

No problem, here's an old map of the Parish of Dunnet, the red arrow points at Sinnegoe.

Thanks Fred, for that great map-is there a spot where I can go to to download the whole map or sections of it when I am trying to place some of these farms?
Thanks
