Has anyone had a new boiler and radiators fitted recently under the government offer, where you don't have to pay?

According to
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/nov/19/eco-green-deal-energy-scheme
(http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/nov/19/eco-green-deal-energy-scheme)
273,000 homes have benefited from the scheme, but does not make a distinction between "loft insulation and boiler replacements" in the category of "mostly"
It goes onto to speak of another 7,000 measures, mainly boiler replacements.
Maybe there are better statistics somewhere, but it does sound like a lot of people have taken up this offer.

I have been waiting for 6 weeks for an initial survey as "there are no approved installers in your area" according to the company advertising.
Hello,
If you are looking for a Greendeal installer in the Caithness area Sinclair Plumbing and Heating are accredited installers for natural (town) gas boilers and heating controls. You can find their information at;

There are also two local companies that are Greendeal accredited assessors - RDI renewables and Pentland energy advise.
It is far quicker to use a local company for the assessment and installation as a lot of companies from south don't realise how far north we are. We have had a couple of customers who have had their dates for assessment put back 2 - 3 weeks time and time again as the companies don't want to travel this far north..... or so it seems.
Cheers,
Ryan S
going through all that the moment fran with RDi.

Contact Angela Craig at Pentland Energy, she can do the assessment and Korrie can do installation as they are NCS Greendeal installers.
I have been planning a new boiler for a while. Around the beginning of October we had a call from a lady turns out to be in Airdrie I didn't know this at the time who made the green deal sound very nice. A visit was arranged and a sum of £149.99 paid. After four visits being called off last weak I decided enough and cancelled and asked for my money back. A letter arrived today saying they were sorry we had cancelled and my payment would be refunded but not right away as they had a cash flow problem. Surely these companys should check where they calling and after this I will ask where calling from
go get your money back.
if you are in Scotland
you should not have to pay the survey fee anyhow!
theres a fund for that!

Yes they did tell me on one of there calls that we would be getting our money returned when work was done. Think company will be all right Its just the distance away down there they think Scotland ends at Glasgow
what i hear is the company keep cancelling a freinds has had them cancel loads of times since the spring when asked for thier money back they made another appointment the cancelled again now meant to be coming on the 19th but can see them not coming again my friend is a oap thaat is easily taken in its just not right

You do realise of course that the cost of all these schemes is the so-called "green taxes" added to everyones electricity bills that everyone is up in arms about just now?
There is no such thing as a free lunch!!
So if your neighbour installs a new boiler under the scheme, make sure he thanks you for funding it.
Best to keep it local, with someone you can callon immediately, and discuss face to face:

I had a survey, an engineer called and the work done by a Livingstone firm all within six weeks. Excellent service. Thanks for the replies. I was very nervous about getting it done. It was done through Scottish gas.
