Caithness is set for a brand new abattoir after securing a major grant from Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Local businessman John Sutherland is planning to develop a £2.3million slaughter house on the outskirts of Keiss, providing 15 full-time jobs. He purchased the county's existing facility in 2003 but it no longer meets legaslative standards.
