I've been following women's football for a while, and, in particular, Arsenal and England. Both have good teams, but in my opinion England were vastly overrated and over-hyped in the period leading up to the European Championship. You may ask what's new there, but that's not the point....
The point is that I have won a significant amount of money by predicting the scoreline of tonight's match, together with the fact that England came bottom of their group. The bookies don't often get it hopelessly wrong, but on this occasion at least one of them was seemingly caught up in the hype. I didn't go for the safe bet of a French win, which would have won me a modest sum. Instead, I invested a similarly modest sum on the 3-0 scoreline - and I came up trumps.
The final result was:
Secrets $$$$$$ Bookies 0
Lucky? Of course, but for all the right reasons.
