I have quite a few of these plants in my garden and they are beautiful but they've gone very 'leggy' and the outer flowers have flopped on to the ground.

Any advice apart from staking them? I didn't think they were supposed to do this?

Same thing has happened to mine - flopped to the ground

Oh dear! Do you think it's due to the wind? Have you staked them or just left them to flop?

This has happened to mine too. Think it may be the weather - cold snap delayed them and then when it warmed up they just went for it and bolted. Still love 'em though :)

Think you are probably right Dreamweaver. They are still beautiful. Have just staked them up.

This is the first time I've grown Geum so could you tell me what I do at the end of the flowering season? :)

I don't do anything with mine - they just die back and come back year after year. Fab little things :D

Sorry for not replying sooner but never knew you'd posted a reply. Thanks for that. My kind of plant! :)

PS Do you dead head them?

I usually dead head them, if I can bothered - they spread quite a bit too

Thanks Scunner. I've been deadheading them as well and have quite a few. I have them in red, orange and yellow so they really brighten up the garden and are so long flowering which is great. A really lovely addition to any garden. :)
