Sleeper to Euston. Change to Waterloo and be in southampton by 1020 - easy
Fly Down it is quicker and could be cheaper.

You can fly to Bristol with Sleazy Jet cheaply. Then coach or I would imagine train to Southhampton.

Fran I have done the Southampton trip a couple of times now and I hate flying but found it was for me the easiest option. I took the train to Inverness and flew Inverness Southampton. I'm not sure about cost though as you may get discount on your train journey.

You can probably get a bus - you could just ask when you arrive. A taxi wouldn't be too expensive, but Southampton buses are ok IIRC.

I'm planning Wick to Nottingham next week and the train fair is £160 return I would almost be as cheap flying to Luton and getting a bus up. Train journey fourteen hours plane and bus eight hours.....if I didn't need to get either drunk or drugged I am tempted to fly lol
I paid over £100 to go to Manchester return on a railcard

Flying from wick to southampton via edinburgh with Flybe £249.56 return If you can book a month or so ahead flying south from Wick is not that expensive when compared to train.
If you have a air discount card the price I quoted above would reduce.
