Thinking of getting a few pigs ! Anything I need to know ?? Do I need a licence ? etc etc

You'll need a Holding number which is easy to obtain, this link may be of use:

This one is only guidance as I think its regarding pigs in England and their rules are slightly different as you can get a licence to walk your pig, in Scotland you can't.

Even if they are only to be pets you will need to comply with the requirements. I have 2 pet pigs. The are lovely animals. There is a number of Orgers whom have pig so I'm sure they will be posting more advice.

Good fencing is essential, they are clever animals and will escape given the chance. Feeding and watering is fairly straight forward, pig nuts / feed tatties mix and they will eat every scrap of greenery in their paddock. Shelters can be bought or made - we did about six months of research and planning before we got our four pigs in the spring, there is a whole lot of info on the web so I'd start there and good luck.
