Oil Slick

I was out at Keiss taking some photos and noticed something floating on the surface of the water all along the coastline, I didn't have any binoculers to establish what it was.
Could it be an oil slick?

Looks like a dirty foamy slick that appears along the shore when there is motion in the sea. Bit of a swell along the beach after the wind of the last couple of days.

I saw it from higher up it looked white. Maybe salt after the stormy weather?
