Sorry if this has been asked before but.
Does anyone know where the road through Gillock. Halkirk end to Watten has diversion road closed signs on it .
they are working on the road - putting in pipes to allow otters to cross I am told. I am not entirely sure which part, but it is a pain as I travel that road every day. I assume it is at the turning to durran, but I only assume that as there is a burn there.
probably renewing culverts which are collapsing, the Council have done this in several places. Good if they're also allowing otters a passge.

They have installed a new, much larger culvert to prevent flooding just next to the old Stemster schoolhouse.
I have been told the road will reopen to traffic on Wednesday 17th.
Similar work is also being done on the gillock to wick road and I am led to believe its at least another week before its finished.
Thurso to Gillock road was still closed this morning, but hopefully it'll be open tonight meaning I can have an extra 5 minutes in bed tomorrow :D
