Is the article on Caithness org headlines about the hovercraft an April fool joke. It says you can see it free prior to its trips from wick to Norway. I didn't think wick harbour was deep enough and there's been nothing in the paper. Is there a demand to sail from wick to Norway.

From what I can remember Fran, I used to love watching the hovercrafts at Dover harbour, and I am almost certain, they inflated on dry land and scooted into the water at some speed. So I'm not sure depth of water would be a problem

Is there a demand to sail from wick to Norway. It's a typo - the mini-hovercraft will relay passengers between Wick and Staxigoe, not Stavanger (which they can't even spell!)

No wonder you were confused!

As I understand it the North Baths are going to be converted into a passenger terminal for it.

As I understand it the North Baths are going to be converted into a passenger terminal for it.That's the long term plan - although there's some resistance from the residents in Lindsay Drive whose houses would be demolished to make way for the access road.

There will be trips to Stroma for tourists in the summer. A hovercraft can sit on top of the Swilkie without fear of being sucked into Davy Jones' locker.
