View Full Version : Titanic II confirmed for 2016, passengers to wear 1920s costumes
A billionaire has confirmed his intent to construct a replica of the original Titanic, with its maiden voyage planned for the year 2016 from Southampton to New York.
MMMMM Interesting but I am not sure I would like to risk history repeating itself. Also as he won't say anything about the ticket price I feel sure I would not be able to afford the trip.
Would any of you orgers out there be interested in dressing up in 1920's gear and go to the USA by the Titanic II?

I'd go as long as I could dress as a woman. And then when iceberg 2 comes along it's women and children first for the lifeboats :-)
Personally, I wouldn't want to take part in making a mockery of such a tragic event as the sinking and major loss of life of the "Titanic" in trying to replicate it's maiden (and only) voyage !! Pretty sad really, that some people (billionaire's) still find a way of making money from this ! [evil]
yes I would go, lightening doesn't strike twice, especially with what is in place now.
It wasn't lightning that hit it though! :-))

Well, according to all the normal climate deniers, global warming - er - climate change will mean no icebergs.
I'd go as long as I could dress as a woman.
I thought you did that already Jox?.........oops, the secret is out sorry [evil]
Only at weekends and in private Shaggy :-)
The Titanic sank in 1912, why wear 1920's style clothes??

I think its in bad taste, it should be a very sad occasion rather than something to celebrate. :(
why would they wear 1920s costumes when the ship sank in 1912
why would they wear 1920s costumes when the ship sank in 1912I'm pretty sure someone already asked the same question.

"The Costa Concordia disaster was the partial sinking of the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordiawhen it ran aground at Isola Del Gigilo, Tuscany, on Friday the thirteenth of January 2012 with the loss of 32 lives." (From Wikipedia)
I think that 32 families might disagree with that statement.
