How do you know that riggerboy?
Ive tried looking online and cant find anything.
There's a FOI statement from 2009 that says Scottish Water do not add fluoride to any water in scotland and have no plans to do so.

If you're getting a strange chemical smell I understand they use a process called chloramination (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chloramination)

Well I've got great news for you. Long ago there was a plan to put fluoride in the Caithness water, but they found there was no need as it's naturally present in sufficient quantities, that is more than the amount in many places after it's been added.
No - No Flouride added to Caithness Water

Where can you find reference to this please?
Should they take it out then?

A quick Google bought up this (http://www.scottishwater.co.uk/assets/domestic/files/you%20and%20your%20home/water%20quality/your%20water%20quality%20explained.pdf) Scottish Water PDF file...2nd page, left hand side, right hand column under Fluoride heading 'We do not add any additional fluoride to your water'

Thank you.
Wonder what the natural levels are already in the water?
You can buy filters to properly purify tapwater, including filters that will remove fluoride. Google the Freshwater Filter company.
Thank you.

Above what concentration level of fluoride in tap water would you be especially concerned with? :confused

anything above 0 would be a concern for me. http://www.viewzone.com/fluoride.html

Do you think you've been scaremongered?

You don't need to worry about the naturally occurring Fluoride as it is neutralised by the naturally occuring radio isotopes dissolved in the water.

My late Uncle Stanley was a geologist very familiar with the geology of Caithness. He was consulted by the water people back in the 1960s.

The first site you link to there is pretty much one blatant lie or distortion per paragraph. The second is a beautiful example of reasoned debunking of an anti-fluoridation rant. Which one do you believe?

Nither. Just wondered how many would read it to further have an opinion when in the beginning it was only a simple question asked.:Razz

Well I wrote an email to the second guy thanking him for doing such a good job. I'm never able to get to grips with this sort of nonsense - I end up screaming at the computer screen.
