it may sound stupid but what does old lang sighn mean i dont even think i spelt it right :roll:
It really means " Old long ago" see this link

It means times gone by. Robert Burns, when he wrote the poem was about remembering "auld aquaintence" and "auld lange syne" (times past).

Giving due regard to "English form and translation" (crikey, I can remember the text on the Modern Languages exam paper!) it would translate comfortably to mean "old time's sake".

As an Ayrshire laddie we were taught that The Burns meant ye look back in the past year wi a dram or pint,wi a cocktail stick wi a pickled onion ,bit o cheese and ham on it and get sloshed.Rare!!!:lol: :lol:
