A Fort William motorist was banned for seven years for his fourth drink driving offence he was four times over the limit, whats the point in another ban?
Another already Banned motorist from Spean Bridge admitted killing a motorcyclist in a colision, it was a motorcyclist so he will probably get community service .The Sheriff gave him an interim driving ban?? WHATS the point he was already banned.

After the 2nd time should be mandatory spell behind bars (not the spirit type either!), car used confiscated- does not matter who owns it as it was used to commit a crime., person who car belongs to may/could get done for aiding and abbetting in a crime.

Once is stupid, twice is absolutely stupid, anymore and they are extracting the urine from the system as they know nothing will get them.

where motorists are concerned the law is too soft give them a ban they just go ahead and jump in a car again, take away their car they get or steal another one . community service what a joke prison might be the answer but when they serve their time they can walk the streets. what about their victim they cant just pop up again let them serve a year with the family that are left to pick up the pieces that might make them think twice. we dont go out to kill people but accidents do happen but every accident is avoidable.

How do they ever get insurance after something like that?

very easily - company who you were with HAS to legally give you a quote but they CAN make that quote hugely extortionate.
Some insurance companies deal with these specialised cases as they can demand any prices to insure these idiots - if the idiots want to remain on the right side of the law.
Some occupations are charged huge extras due to increased risks - professional entertainers, military, etc - professional entertainer with several drink driving convictions will be paying as much as buying a family car to insure a scooter but a licence or chaffeur is essential to a professional entertainer

IMHO after second conviction for DD they should have DRUNK or similar tattooed on forehead so all can see.

Use a false address, have just had some one try and use ours, needless to say we contacted the company immediately or even worse drive whilst uninsured.
