I detest the politics of envy, I was brought up with the idea that if you saw a Rolls Royce your attitude should be, "When I grow up and earn enough money , I will have one of those," and not, "Why should he have one and I don't?"
Socialism and it's political cousins have no place in my thinking although I am very liberal (note the small l) and despise those who look down at others, are happy to see poverty, lack of education, equality and freedom of thought thrown to the dogs.

I aspire to a world where we all respect each other but that I know is never likely to happen when we cannot even acknowledge the differences between us .

So sad.

When I see a nice car I just wait 20 years then buy one. I've had several that have depreciated by more than £50,000 before I bought it!

I agree to a certain degree, but then you get the people that look down their noses at others that don't have the same fancy car or live in a henhouse(sorry Bungalow)! I would rather be able to afford everything I have, not on HP or paying a small fortune every month to the banks to keep a roof over my head, I think I am a very fortunate person that has great family & a fantastic circle of friends that I know I can count on whenever things go wrong, how many of the people that have their fancy cars etc can say that, not a lot I bet, they are probably sitting at home thinking how lucky they are because the have the nicest car on the street..........well bully for them, I am not in the slightest jealous of anyone's possessions, if they have worked hard for it then good luck to them, I just think that there is more to life than fancy cars & possessions.

Whenever I see anyone driving a new car worth more than £10,000 I just think, 'There goes another fool with more money than sense.'

Eat your heart out guys, I've got a bicycle I bought from a car boot for £10. Gets me where I need to go and cheap to run.

i don't really care what other people have. All i look for in life is happiness and a bit of fun which in my mind doesn't need money or flash cars and big houses. but i don't begrudge people what they have earned
