the other night i went to see james bond again. cinema wasnt really busy was about half full, directly in front of me were three boys all about 12/13 kinda age. as they watched the film they were laughing (but not just randomly they were laughing at the film) there were a few gasps and comments but nothing that was really distracting. then half way through the film. a man who was sitting at the far end of the row i was sitting in came over to them snapped at them to "shut up your ruining the film" (not quietly i might add) then stomped off back to his seat ..... they had to pay their ticket just like everyone else and they werent messing around they were watching/enjoying the film. what a grumpy sod!!!!! sorry rant over!

I've been to films and you get so engrossed you don't realise you're upsetting other people.

Regal Entertainment Group <RGC.N>, the largest U.S. movie theater chain (http://today.reuters.com/misc/PrinterFriendlyPopup.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyID=2006-11-30T022111Z_01_N29391413_RTRUKOC_0_US-MEDIA-SUMMIT-REGAL-DEVICES.xml), is arming moviegoers with a new gadget that allows them to call in the ushers and remove unruly audience members with the press of a button.

The complainer paid his £6.50 too so is entitled to see the film without too much distraction surely - -i had somebody near me that seemed to have some kind of tourettes and kept jumping around and shouting not loudly but it was distracting. there nothing that you can do though apart from wait for the DVD

Still it was a great film

This is the risk you take when you go to a public place to watch a movie. Not everyone is the same some people sit in total silence where others can natter hopefully quietly the whole way through. Its unfair to have your movie spoilt by others but this is the risk you take and surely the attendants would be keeping an eye out for unruly children/adults  At this very momment Weeboyagee and my son are watching War of the Worlds and are chatting the whole time this would drive me nuts so I am sitting here getting my fix of the org. Did this gentleman not think he was spoiling the film by loudly scolding the children so that at least some others could hear? Two wrongs dont make a right.

The children dont sound as though they were that bad was this older guy never young.

I jumped about 20 times during 'Silence o' the Lambs',I must have been a pain in the ass for the folk behind me.I got away wi it though cos I was an adult, when kids enjoy their films wi their pocket money and get carried away wi a film they get all aw the killjoys aw the day coming up to them.

I know this to well because when I was 10 and watched Luke Skywalker use the force and blow up the deathstar I cheered,an older guy came up to me and told me to shut up.Thought thats what the movies was aw about,go and get carried away wi yirsel,if ye want to watch it in peace buy the DVD six months later, and watch it in yer own living room.

I don't mind the kids laughing and enjoying a film but I can't bear going to the cinema any more because of peole constantly rustling sweetie papers and slurping away. Why do they have to reach to the bottom of the popcorn to get a bit? They're only in there for about 2hours maximum, why do people feel the need to munch away constantly? No wonder there's so many couch potatoes if they can't even go without food for a couple of hours.

OMG don't get me started on POPCORN MUNCHERS  and here's me, married to The Man With The Popcorn Ritual [evil] !

It's not bad when folks have a quiet word or eat sweets or laugh at appropriate times, we are human afterall. But I do like to lose myself in a film, and I just can't do with loud munchers and chatters around me. The constant noise drives me insane.

Wifie and I went to see Lord of the Rings a couple of years ago. At a crutial point in the film this womans mobile went off. Of course it was at the bottom of her handbag buried under tons of essential womans 'stuff.'
So this thing is ringing and ringing, eventually she gets to it. Instead of just switching it off, she answers it and starts talking. A guy sitting in front of her stands up turns round, grabs the phone and launches it down the entrance tunnel. The whole place started cheering, I couldn't watch the film for laughing.

about the orginal post, it is slightly refreshing to hear someone complain about an older person! it gets annoying only hearing people complain about youngsters!

I could not endure this for more than one minute without telling them to pack it in, or possibly sitting behind them and giving 'em a dose of it.

Im not sure, possibly could have been due to the fact that 1. the film was dull, 2. I was tired, 3.zzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzz

I watched Casino Royale (Brilliant movie in my opinion). I too was irritated by people chatting throughout the film but I bit my lip.
