BirdTrack is an online tool, established in partnership with the British Trust for Ornithology, the Scottish Ornithologists Club, the RSPB & Birdwatch Ireland, which anyone can use to record their bird sightings across Britain and Ireland.
The information you submit can be used on a personal level (as your very own record of sightings), on a local level (helping us learn about species distribution across the county/region), and on a national level (to support conservation).
Would you like to learn more?
You are very welcome to come along to the Castlehill Heritage Centre on Tuesday 12th June at 7:00pm, where local birdwatchers will be holding a BirdTrack Demo session, followed by an informal discussion on how local information is being put to good use, and how YOU can play an integral role in helping fill in existing gaps in local birding knowledge.
Do dress according to the weather, as a brief spotting session will take place around the nearby shoreline/woodland before the demo, so we have some live data to use.
If you do hope to come along, please drop me a PM if you can, just so we have a rough headcount. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you!
