Television problem

I have a wharfedale tv and the volume won't go up above 4, wondering has someone hit a button they shouldn't have as son plays his xbox on it or is it something more serious? any help would be gratefully recieved thanks.

does it do this both via the remote and the buttons on the TV?

Buttons on the side of tv have never worked, the remote will put the sound down to zero and up to 4 but that is to low to really hear.

i would p'haps then look at factory reseting the tv

as we are not aware of its details
