And that includes 1700 disabled people who are about to be made redundant and thrown on the scrap heap.

Remploy has survived for 66 years helping many disadvantaged people in the past but alas, thanks to Dave and his hatchet Men they will no longer exist!!

Perhaps Dave should rephrase his famous quote, How about........"Those at the bottom are all in this together"!!!!!

Am I wrong in thinking that the focus is more towards supporting people in main stream jobs rather than employing them in specialist factories? I'm not sure as there is no detail in the news story but if you have a look on the website www.remploy.co.uk (http://www.remploy.co.uk) there is some info.

You are probably right Duke and that would be fine if there were any jobs to go to. But we all know there isn't and what few jobs there are I cant see many employers taking on disabled people when they have the choice of able bodied people!

I could really cry for these people because I bet most of them are on a half decent wage/benefits and are now going to be thrown onto jobseekers and the worst thing is they wont be able to claim DLA or Incapacity because the Govt know they are capable of working!!!

And yesterdays news that George Osbourne is going to make it easier for firms to sack people and the news that from now on people will have to pay to take a case to an Industrial Tribunal are all sure signs that the Coalition are incapable of only hitting the poor and most vulnerable in our society!!

Did we learn nothing from Thatchers bullying tactics? The sooner we in Scotland are Independent and away from these Highway Robbers the better as far as I am concerned!!!

Unfortunately equal rights within the workforce also extends to being made redundant.

Well, I'd rather not do make-work in a factory that had no prospect of making money and only existed to attract Government funding. Unlike some Millionaire farmers it seems.

Unfortunately Independance means that instead of the National government screwing us for every last penny it will be the Scottish government screwing us for every last penny.
This government has done nothing but pick on the most vunerable in society to help fund the lavish lifestyles of the "elite". Breaking point will have to come and more riots are likely, it's almost like the government is provoking the poorest in society into rioting so they can bring in more dreconian laws to "supress the peasants".
I personally can't see any change happening until these self serving "overlords" get taught a very harsh lesson. as it is they don't really care because most politicians, government lackies et al have already set themselves up with tidy huge pensions and jobs on the board of directors for the major banks that they seem to be constantly thowing OUR money at to keep them sweet. Makes you wonder why people vote for any party, the best thing that could happen is if NOBODY voted to send a very clear message to these parasites.
Voting is a huge waste of time, think about it, you can't believe ANY of their promises that spew out of their mouths especially before an election, and whatever party gets in are only puppets to the bankers anyway. Yet people will say things like "people died so that you could have a right to vote!"...I wonder what those people who died in atrocious wars would say if they could see the corruption of our governments that is going on today!
