I have what I believe to be a william morris reclining chair which I would like to sell. However I have been looking around the net and have seen them beginning at around £300 and going up into the thousands. Would appreciate if someone could possibly give some advice

I would suggest taking photographs of the chair from various angles and sending it to a well established auction house to get their opinion. Photograph any markings, close ups of any pattern on the cover, labels etc., to give them the best chance of making an estimate. Good luck!

Try speaking to the painter and decorator, Robert Maitland in Thurso, I can PM you his details if you want. Im sure he would be of some help and is extremely knowlegable on antiques, I would say the best in the county and will give a decent price. He has been dealing in antiques for around 40 years plus and been on a few TV shows.
He also gives really good prices for gold and silver – better than Cash for Gold etc.
