View Full Version : Phone and Broadband
Anyone got any advice about which company is good value for money for phone and broadband? Just now I am with talktalk for just a basic phone and broadband package and sometimes I am paying up to £50 per month. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have BT broadband option 2 (think it allows 40GB a month), line rental and free anytime calls to landlines for £32 a month.
I have BT at home, but at work we have set up with Utility Warehouse (http://forum.caithness.org/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=utility%20warehouse&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CD8QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.uwclub.net%2F&ei=AmgIT97XNsbMsgbhsL2BDw&usg=AFQjCNG-6gyNCbLEV3ifVsb8nlWWNvbj7Q) and they do our electicity, phone and broadband.
I find the Utility Warehouse bill very easy to understand and no contract. When my contract is up with BT I may switch to them at home.

Your link to Utility Warehouse doesn't work Birons. Try this one:

Thank you for this information. I will have to do some searching online and hopefully get something a bit cheaper.

Well having been with BT for my line and features and Virgin for my broadband for many years (for particular reasons). Last month changed my broadband to BT - quite pleased, but maybe Virgin were rubbish anyway...

suggest you wait till exchange upgraded on 31st March and there will be a lot cheaper deals on the go then.
Check out you are on the best rate with your current provider. My package was migrated from Pipex (who were brilliant) to Talk Talk last year. Have had no end of trouble with them, but currently locked into a contract until May. I pay 25 quid a month for unlimited broadband, landline and free calls 24/7 to 01,02,03 0870 0845 and Europe all inclusive.... so think OP is being charged for calls which should be free. If you make particular foreign calls they will add a discount package to the basic one I have to take calls down to two pence per minute.
Plusnet is actually a BT company, although it has a better reputation than BT, mostly because their callcentre is Yorkshire based and the folks are easier to understand than those in the Punjab.
Thank you I really appreciate this info. I will look into Plusnet. cheers.
