Shops in Wick open?

When are the shops in Wick opening?? I thought they would of been open today, but just come back from the street and most of them are shut. Anyone know thanks:D

Thanks Stack Rock i seen that they were open and Tesco's, was looking to find out when the local shops and cafes would be opening.

Today is a Bank Holiday in Scotland, that is why most shops are closed

New Year has always been more of a holiday in Scotland than Christmas. I move to Scotland in '63 and most people worked on Christmas day. Even in the 70's my dad was working on that day.

Scotland generally has different Bank Holiday's to England, we have the local holidays instead.
