Advice on wiring PC case to Motherboard

I am building a new PC and need some advice as to the wiring of the front panel on PC case to the Motherboard.


The Motherboard has the following Front Panel Pins
PLED+
PLED-
PWRBTN#
GND
HDLED+
HDLED-
GND
RESET#
and a "DUMMY PIN"


The case on the other hand has the following leads
POWERLED+
POWERLED-
HDDLED+
HDDLED-
POWER SW (TWO LEADS ORANGE & WHITE)
RESET SW (TWO LEADS BLUE AND WHITE)


Whilst some of connections are obvious I am a bit confused as to the POWER and POWER SW pins.
Any idea as the correct way of wiring up?

Most likely is...

POWER SW ORANGE > PWRBTN#
POWER SW WHITE > GND NEXT TO PWRBTN#

RESET SW BLUE > RESET#
RESET SW WHITE > GND NEXT TO RESET#

Might be worth checking the motherboard manual, the pins are sometimes described as 'pull up' and 'pull down'.

Power SW is usually the power switch on the front and Reset SW is usually the reset button.

Usually though it goes (but again check the motherboard manual):

Power SW: Orange (positive) to pin 6, negative (white) to pin 8.
Reset SW: Blue (positive) to pin 7, negative (white) to pin 5.

So what you described sounds about right.
