Was watching sky this afternoon and it froze so turned off at wall. Turned back on and the red light on the box is on but can't get it to change to green when I push the standby button. Any ideas or is it just a case of splashing out on new box!:~(:(

Phone sky and they might replace the box, I had a simmilar problem and they replaced the box.
I think sometimes there is a problem and the boses wont come off standbuy.

I had the same problem so i done this and it worked perfect but be warned it erases all recordings, so its kinda a last resort

Power off box at the mains
Hold down LEFT+RIGHT buttons on front and re-apply power
When the green ring flashes release LEFT+RIGHT and press SELECT
Play and Record will both light and the green ring will cycle backwards
The box will power off
Leave for 2 minutes, then power on with remote or power button
