You can see from the two pictures how much weight the whitecoats have got to pile on in just under 3 weeks.
If they don't reach the size of this molting pup their chances of surviving the Winter is reduced and they will become part of the 30-40% that will die before Spring. (these are 2 different seals on same beach)
