View Full Version : boundary walls
does anyone know how high i can build a brick wall between 2 houses, there is already a small brick wall and wanted to build it higher. also do i have to get planning permission??
um dont know about now.. but i do know that in feb. they are changing the laws to make it easier to do home improvment and a lot of the things that you would have to get planning permission for is to be dropped. we have about a 10 ft wall in our back garden which the council built years ago.. but its not the dividing wall between gardens.. so not sure.. sorry ive been no help at all!

First thing I'd do is ask your neighbours if they object.
I think you can build up to 1.2m with brick and up to 6ft if it's a wooden fence, without planning permission - or it was that 2 years ago when we put a wall round the house.

You will also need a building warrant over these heights.
