Just wondering does anyone have experience of Petrol Mulching Mowers ? Any thoughts good or bad appreciated.

Great - you don't have to dispose of the grass cuttings because they get re-cut and spread across the grass. The only down side is that you should only cut one third of the height of the grass on any one passing so the mulching process works effectively. It improves the grass and reduces clover.

There is good and bad. The good is obvious - you don't have a box and you don't have to empty it. The bad is that leaving the mulched grass constantly will choke the growing grass, and encourage the growth of moss. The other bad point is this - I have never found a mulching mower which will work when the grass is damp, never mind wet. They just choke up and break drive belts.
