The D drive on my laptop has stopped recognising any discs I insert. Also it will not eject without inserting a paperclip into the little hole at the side of it. I have never had any gtrouble with it before, however I did a clean up of my laptop files. Is it possible that I have deleted the software for this to run or is it more likely a hardware fault. The laptop is 2 years old.

is it removable?

are there any lights flashing on it to indicate it has power?

p'haps it needs reseating in/out?

typically if you accidently remove say the drivers, this would not stop its eject button working
so i suspect its unseated with the connector its has on the inside because it it slightly not seated in its bay correctly.

what is the laptop model etc
