Not too bad as I've never taken a test since passing 42 years ago!!
Mrs Aestus 57 also got 96%, pretty good since it is 30 years since she took and passed her test (1st time!)

Too be honest, it was all a bit too easy....when you have a choice of 4 answers and 3 of them are laughable it's not too difficult to guess the right one. What I found was the distance that we should leave from the car in front, there wasn't a lot about that to be honest and a far cry from my days when you had to work out "Speed...thinking distance in feet....stopping distance in feet......total stopping distance equals??"....you certainly needed a degree in Maths to get that right. Now it's just a 2 second gap between you and the car in front which is fine as long as you have something to measure it by!!!
Loved the one about a farmer rounding up sheep, "would you tell him he has no authority to stop traffic and put your foot down and roar on"!!!
Sorry, but its like all the school exams, I am sure they have made them all a lot easier than they were years ago but perhaps that just me getting old!!
C3...........;)
The first aid and accident ones I thought were good.
But yes many didnt require a lot of thought

Oh dear, just scraped a pass!
48 & 48 here so another 96%, over 40 years since I passed my test
1st one I got 46 out of 50
2nd one I got 49 out of 50
Bah! it was the distance where you had to put a red Triangle if you breakdown that I got wrong.
Otherwise not too bad with a overall of 95%.
I got 48/50 on part one, part two I got 50/50 but admit to guessing three of the answers.

Good job, really ;)
I wouldn't expect a driving instructor to get less than 100%, and knowing what Caithness is like for gossip you'd have to leave the county in shame. :)
47/50 & 45/50 92% No excuse for watching the tennis at the same time lol

The questions involving thinking/braking/overall stopping distances are still in the question bank, but there's around a thousand potential questions that are chosen at random on the 'real' test - so sometimes you can breeze through the test without getting any of the more challenging ones thrown in.
The Two Second Rule is a good way of assessing following distance and not much else. . But the numerical calculations are still there and valid as people do not realise just how long it takes to drag a ton of steel down from, say, 60mph. There's a very simple numerical way of remembering the thinking/braking/overall stopping distances involved - but it only works in feet, not that funny Euro measuring system.
And yes, Corrie, you're just getting old....;)
I got 50/50 and 49/50.
My 5 yo who cannot read yet alone drive (wont be able to see out the window and reach the pedals) got 45/50 and 39/50 by randomly picking the boxes!

Our first failure, watch out for the 5 year old on the roads, he/she (delete as applicable) doesnt know the highway code.
In all fairness to Laurens attempt, she only put one answer in for the ones that needed two or more answers for a correct score!
Will I get her to try again?
Or should we stick to learning the green cross code first:lol:
I let her try as she was watching me and wanted a go, but, I thought it would give you all a laugh at how sometimes multiple guess questions can result in a good (though not quite a good enough score this time) result by someone without a clue!
I fancy that she wouldve passed had she tick the 3 boxes where required.
That is crazy, just goes to show the value of the theory test.
I would start her off on cycling proficiency at the very least.
Do you still get such a thing?

50 on the first and 45 on the second.
They have some very strange answers.
In particular their advice on what to do with burns is very dubious!

I don't appreciate being called a cheat.
I am just really good at these things.
Oh I know you cheated, you always cheat.

DID YOU DO IT??
Ha Ha I like that.
I may have had some help but there was nothing in the rules to say that was not allowed.

Only did the first half. 50/50 which was a bit of a surprise considering I passed my test in 1972 and left the country for good in 1985. Mostly just common sense mind you.

He's quite handy to be able to quote at haggis fests. Usually get a free dram or two for it.
