Getting mobile sites from my pc

Gumtree and various newspaper sites redirect me to their mobile versions of their website from my pc. Tried clearing caches web history - using IE instead of firefox to no avail.
Anyone got any suggestions - it is so annoying!

It could be your user agent, they may be picking you up as using a mobile browser or having the screen resolution of a mobile browser. Go here (http://www.useragentstring.com) and post what it says. Failing that create a new user account, login with it and test.
