We are here to support young people from the age of 8-18 years old who may be caring for a relation or whos lives are affected by drink or drug missuse which can seriously affect a young persons well being or if they have siblings with a disability. Not only do we offer support to the young carers but we can also help support the family as well. Our remit is the whole of Caithness and at the moment we have a drop-in at the youth club in Wick on a Monday between 4.30 & 6.30 where they can play pool football table tennis have a snack and just a chat if thats what they want. Our group is user led and its a time for them to be children. As well as Wick we have secured funding to enable us to have a drop-in in Thurso at the Ormlie Community Centre on A Tuesday evening from 6.30-8.30. Next Tuesday the 28th of june between 6.30pm and 8pm in the Ormlie Centre we are having an open evening to anyone interested in finding out more information as well as our group Tracey Kay who runs a young carers group within Thurso High School will also be be there to give an insight to how they support youngsters in the school.
