for any interested persons one of the most powerful deisels built in the early 60s.will be in wick and thurso tomorrow.arrives in wick at 07.30 then departes for thurso arrives at 09.30.back to wick for a few hours then departs for inverness.

Is that the deltic that's back in service for a month or two?
yes it is Deltic 55022..gorgemass in the morning at 06.50 i must be mad.lol..

despite my total lack of interest in "train spotting" I might just have to wander along to the station to see that in the morning. An absolutely awesome bit of engineering!

seen it going in and out of wick working at milton proper train dont build them like that now

Love Deltics, they just ooze power..
And did you know that the Deltic engine was also used in Royal navy minesweepers for main propulsion?
