This Friday (29th October) sees a Rally in support of the North Action Group in defence of maternity and gynaecology services in Caithness.

There is already intense Press interest in this meeting, which is expected to be quite lively.

NAG has inited several speakers to take questions from the floor.
These include MSPs:
Carolyn Leckie, Scottish Socialist Party
Rob Gibson, Scottish National Party
Mary Scanlon, Tory
Jamie Stone, LibDem
a late confirmation now includes Maureen Macmillan, Labour

Also in the line-up will be Davil Alston, NHS Highland deputy chair.
Dr George Venters, chairman of the Scottish Health Campaigns Network, will also speak.

TV cameras will be present and a PA system will allow everyone to be heard. If you're too shy to stand up, written questions may be accepted by the chair.

NAG appeals to you all to come to this meeting.

Yes, it is understandable that this year-long campaign and many meetings and protests may have drained some supporters, but now is the time for you to show the strength of your feelings.

The official 'consultation' period ends in a week or two, after which the (unelected) board will vote on what its officials recommend. After that, the Scottish Minister for health will either accept or reject the Board's decision.

PLEASE GET ALONG TO THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, WICK, for a prompt start at 7.30pm
