Red deer

Went a drive up Strathalladale today and was very surprised to see three herds of red deer totaling well over 100 in number between Melvich and Forsinard.
Should they not have moved up into the high hills by now or have the dry conditions meant there is a lack of grazing?

i had a deer stalker on the bus today he was saying that the cool weather has kept them down at low level this year

Thanks was also very surprised a few nights ago to find a small herd at the back of the village I live in...was a pleasure to see though
